Who we are
Capoeira Club Essex was founded by Rui De Sousa and Maya Walters. Both started Capoeira as children, and it has been their life's work ever since.
We are part of the wider Capoeira Club network, connected to the lineage of Mestre Hiram Ribeiro. What started as one class has grown into weekly training for children and adults, curriculum-linked schools programmes, nurseries, birthday parties and performances across the UK.
